Embellishing?

A book that is a memoir definitely be one hundred percent true. If it isn’t true than you don’t know if you can trust the author or not. I am reading The Glass Castle and after learning about this I am wondering if all of these terrible things are true or if she is embellishing . No, half-way truths are NOT okay! You have to think sometimes do you want to tell a true story or a good one? Yes, a good story may be more interesting but you never know, the truth may be interesting to someone else. What one person hates, someone else loves. This is the same concept. What someone who lived this experienced it thinks their life is boring to someone else it could be glamorous. Frey and Mortenson shouldn’t of bent the truth I would have liked to know the real truth. No, I don’t think we need lines between genres. That’s why we know what we like. We should keep things very simple because everything else is so complex that we shouldn’t need to make choosing a book so complex. Yes, we do need to label thing non- fiction or fiction because we want to know if we are reading a true story or not.

  2. I like how you say "a good story may be more interesting but you never know, the truth may be interesting to someone else". This is a very good point though I think that now a days authors are more worried about making money and making a living than writing the truth or somrthing that many people may not accept.
